WOW - I like this question ! !!
I have all my needs. . . . .
NOW - About wants. . . the list is endless. . . just when I think I have my wants satisfied I think of more wants. . .
Struggling now with gratitude and being happy with what I have and not  "WANTING"

What standards do you refuse to compromise?

I am not sure I can use refuse. . .
Reluctant is a better word for me.
I try to always keep good communications with all people I encounter.
I am not successful with everyone.
Good communications for me is to speak and act kindly to all I come into  contact.
Always expressing love does not always meet with other's idea of what love may be.
I have had times when the kindest things I could talk about was subjects that made another uncomfortable.
I do try to practice the phylosophy that honesty with out compassion is brutality.
Again - I have not hit 100% on anything I have written about.
Thank you all and thank you siona for this opportunity to express myself.

My absolute and total gratitude for them being and for them giving me life, liberty and my choices of happiness.

I could be caged !

How can we adapt to meet the changes predicted for this century?

Posted on Mar 26th, 2008 by Tom : Cruising Tom
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for March 26, 2008:

The next four maybe five generations will be doing the adapting.
The colonization of other space ships will have to come into reality. I think there must be instilled into the unborn generations appreciation of the spiritual universe and the divinity of art.
I shudder to think that the generations to come will take war, pestilence, greed, and the rest of the seven deadly sins with them into a new world.
I wish we had not realized them in our world.

What's the fiercest storm you've weathered?

Posted on Mar 20th, 2008 by Tom : Cruising Tom
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for March 20, 2008:

Longest and the Worst,
My attempt at returning home after military service in South East Asia.
I was like the character in the Sci-Fi book "Man from Mars/Stranger in a Strange Land".
No one wanted to have much to do with me, strangers on campus would scowl and at times ridicule myself and other veterans, the VFW & American Legion members shunned the Veterans returning from Vietnam, employers were and still are skeptical regarding what value you would be as an employee, and the list of excommunication from my culture and society could go on ad infinitum.  The storm is still raging for some.

What does 'normal' mean to you?

Posted on Mar 9th, 2008 by Tom : Cruising Tom
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for March 09, 2008:

Century_009

Normal brings on thought of complacency and an identifying with the masses - right or wrong.
Normalcy brings Franklin Roosevelt to mind. . .many of the ills today were born of his elitism.
NOPE - I do not wish normal on any one and hope I never fit into the mold.
